Ethnicity, especially mixes of disparate backgrounds, has always intrigued me. I stayed with my good friend Josh and his girlfriend Claudia during this last trip to San Francisco.
Claudia is originally from Cuba, with a Syrian and Cuban background. The way cultures mix, the way the genetics break down going one way or another is just insane to me. Claudia is a super tall lass (I think she’s like 5’11”), fair skinned, with long proportions… basically the opposite of most the cubans I know here in Miami, where I think the average height for a latin guy is like 5’7”.
I married into a Cuban family. My wife’s background is Swedish and Northern Italian. My family is Nicaraguan, but I’m a quarter Lebanese (and look 100% Lebanese). It’s fascinating to look at the cultural diversity within “Latin” culture, where most Americans lump everyone into being Mexican or Cuban.

No story. Just this lass staring into your soul.
Home.
When you live in a place that you didn’t grow up, you realize that there are certain visuals, sounds, smells, etc that somehow bring comfort but you never think would.
Fast moving clouds, cold rain, In ‘n Out, pebbly sand, fog, and rolling down your windows are all things I miss about California.
